Standard Insurance Coverage on a carrier's Bill of Lading (BOL)

Canadian carriers typically cover up to $2.00 CAD per pound for the entire shipment.
U.S. carriers usually cover $5–$25 USD per pound (sometimes less) for only the damaged or lost piece.
For higher coverage, a Declared Value must be indicated, with surcharges starting at 2%.
